Gentle Exercise Classes - Currently on hold
Tuesdays 12.45-1.45pm & 2.00-3.00pm, Sedbury & Beachley Village Hall
These exercise classes are a spin-off from the Memory Café following one of our themed sessions on sports.
Classes are suitable for any wanting to improve or maintain their strength and fitness, including those concerned about their balance or with long term health conditions. A qualified instructor leads the classes and exercises are done seated or standing up holding on for support and may use simple apparatus, including balls and rubber stretch bands.
Classes are run in partnership with the Forest of Dean Social Prescribing Team and local surgeries or allied health professional may refer you. A fitness assessment is required before joining the class, though you are welcome to turn up for a taster session. Please contact the tutor Helen on 07810 008277 to book a fitness appointment. Following the assessment you will be advised which class to join.
The first class is free and thereafter classes are £3 per session. This can be paid each week or in advance. Sedbury Space volunteers, who facilitate this activity, also provide refreshments between classes which makes it a lovely social occasion. Donations for refreshments are welcome.
During COVID-19 Lockdown
We are currently offering the Gentle Exercise Class via Zoom. If you would like to take part, please contact Helen on 07810 008277 or on Helen.firstname.lastname@example.org and Helen will be able to give you instructions on how to join.
