An update on the Sedbury Space story 2019

Once the centre was up and running our focus was to get community activities established to meet our aims of  enhancing community cohesion through volunteering and participation.

Barnwood Trust returned in 2019 to see how their investment had been used. They produced a short film about Sedbury Space as an example to demonstrate to others how their charitable support can bring transformation to neglected community spaces.

We were still keen to complete the transformation of the premises by developing the back yard which was still a bit of an eye sore. We were able to raise a further £7,500 from donations and grants from charities including Gloucestershire County Council, the Police and Crime Commissioner's Fund, Chepstow Rotary Club and the Tesco Bags of Help scheme.

The bare tarmacked yard was soon recreated and became a beautiful welcoming garden which was opened by Lady Bathurst in June 2019 . It has since provided a valuable addition to the venue.
